 Religion & Society Studies Center:

This Center surveys contemporary society with a focus on the spiritual motivations and dimensions of current events. It celebrates and explains to a wider audience the deep and abiding faith that drives the thoughts and actions of millions of Americans, and identifies and analyzes those pressures which undermine such faith. The Center works to build understanding between believers from different denominations in areas such as sexual morality, bioethics, and family life, where basic agreement on behavioral norms is both possible and desirable. It also brings theological and philosophical rigor to ethical and civic debate in America, reminding citizens that theirs is a nation founded "under God," and that their liberties rest on this moral foundation. The Center operates under the guidance of Professor Harold O.J. Brown.

Goto: Preview of Reliogion & Society Report The Religion & Society Report  is this Center’s primary project. Founded in 1984, this monthly, eight-page periodical offers uncompromising, but civil analyses of cultural controversies and public issues from a Christian framework. Issues discussed include the relationship of civil authority to the Bible, abortion and euthanasia, medical ethics, theological trends in American and European churches, religious liberty, and reports on the persecution of Christians and other faith groups in foreign lands.

The Religion & Society Report has become a monthly fixture in the hearts and minds of leading opinion makers. The "ripple effect" of this newsletter is enormous.

"Harold O.J. Brown has one of the keenest minds I know. I devour anything and everything he writes. I look forward to receiving each issue of  Religion & Society Report. It is relevant and always useful to me." Charles Colson, Prison Fellowship Ministry

"The Religion & Society Report, edited by Professor Harold O.J. Brown, is a monthly reminder that the clear and sparkling well of Christian traditional scholarship and timely commentary has not yet faded from America." Otto Scott, Otto Scott’s Compass
