FRACTURED GENERATIONS: CRAFTING A FAMILY POLICY FOR TWENTY-FIRST
CENTURY AMERICA
Washington, DC – On Wednesday, May 11, Dr. Allan C. Carlson,
President of the Howard Center for Family Religion and Society and
Distinguished Fellow for Family Policy Studies at the Family
Research Council will present a Family Policy Lecture entitled,
“Fractured Generations: Crafting a Family Policy For Twenty-first
Century America.” This lecture will start at 11:00 a.m. in
Washington, DC at the Family Research Council. The presentation will
also be audiocast live via internet at www.frc.org (click on
"Events").
In this Family Policy Lecture, Allan Carlson will discuss the
themes of his new book, Fractured Generations (www.profam.org). He
provides a comprehensive pro-family program to strengthen marriage,
encourage larger families, restore home parenting and the home
economy, transform schooling into a true homecoming, build
pro-family housing, create a family-friendly tax code, and turn
Social Security toward a rebinding of the generations.
Prof. Wilfred McClay of the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga
comments: "Fractured Generations is ... a meaty compilation of
particular policy initiatives that can begin to restore the strength
and dignity of the natural family and give it the tools to defend
itself."
Pat Fagan of the Heritage Foundation adds: "Allan Carlson is the
best writer and thinker on family and society. ... In Fractured
Generations he continues and refines his work--his tradition--and
concludes with a list of public policy proposals that every
congressman and senator should have in pocket-card form next to
their heart."
Allan Carlson is Distinguished Fellow in Family Policy Studies at
the Family Research Council and President of the Howard Center for
Family, Religion & Society. He holds his Ph.D. in Modern European
History from Ohio University and is the author of 8 books on the
