ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
John Howard returned from World War II with a commitment to use his career to spread understanding of the ideals and the behavioral standards which had enabled America’s free society to become the wonder and the envy of the world. Judging that his goal might best be served within the educational system, he wrote his Ph.D dissertation on educational philosophy.
In 1960, John Howard was named President of Rockford College. Under his leadership, Rockford College adopted a new statement of purpose.
Howard has given many speeches, more than forty of them published in Vital Speeches. He is also the author of Detoxifying the Culture and Christianity: Lifeblood of America’s Free Society.
